Overview
John Zink is hiring a Field Service Technician in the Fired Equipment Group to support customers across various industries, focusing on the installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintenance of industrial fired equipment critical for safe operations. This role involves significant travel to customer sites nationwide.
Responsibilities
- Travel to customer facilities to support installation, inspection, troubleshooting, and repair of fired equipment.
- Diagnose and resolve electrical issues on combustion systems.
- Provide technical expertise on various types of burners, including startup support and performance optimization.
- Lead with safety in field execution and identify risks in industrial environments.
- Interpret P&IDs, mechanical drawings, and system layouts to implement effective solutions.
- Support and interface with instrumentation and controls systems for troubleshooting.
- Calibrate, test, and maintain field instrumentation to support system performance.
- Build strong relationships with customer operations and maintenance teams through clear communication.
- Maintain accurate documentation including service reports and updates to drawings.
Requirements
- Experience troubleshooting, installing, and maintaining industrial electrical, instrumentation, and mechanical systems.
- Experience working with PLC-based control systems.
- Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, electrical schematics, and control systems.
- Willingness and ability to travel approximately 75%.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain a TWIC within six weeks.
