Job Description

Overview

The Mig Welder position involves performing Mig welding using spray arc transfer processes for various applications, including pipes and cyclones. The role is part of Townley, a leader in providing advanced wear solutions for abrasion and corrosion challenges across multiple industries.

Responsibilities

  • Clamp, hold, tack-weld, heat-bend, grind or bolt component parts for welding.
  • Inspect and measure machined work pieces for conformance to specifications.
  • Remove rough spots from work pieces using grinders, hand files, or scrapers.
  • Chip or grind off excess weld, slag, or spatter using various tools.
  • Weld components in flat and vertical positions.
  • Examine finished work pieces to verify conformance with specifications.
  • Operate and maintain robotic welding equipment.
  • Set up welding equipment and adjust settings as needed.
  • Monitor the welding process for quality and accuracy.
  • Perform routine maintenance on welding equipment.
  • Follow instructions from supervisors to complete assigned work projects.
  • Demonstrate commitment to safety and zero harm behaviors.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in Mig Welding with Spray Arc Transfer or Short Arc transfer.
  • Strong knowledge of welding techniques and equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and welding diagrams.
  • Excellent attention to detail and quality control skills.
  • Ability to proactively troubleshoot problems.
  • Fabricating experience preferred.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment.
  • Ability to work as a team within and across departments.
  • Ability to work scheduled hours and comply with company policies.

Additional Information

  • 1st Shift: 7am - 4:30pm, Monday to Friday.
  • Additional overtime available as business needs increase.
  • Required to complete a basic weld test during the interview.
