Overview

As a Manufacturing Associate at Howmet Aerospace, located in Skokie, IL, you will be part of a team responsible for assembly operations on the 2nd shift. The company specializes in advanced engineered solutions for the aerospace and transportation industries.

Responsibilities

  • Safely perform a variety of assembly operations, complying with all environmental, health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Operate a variety of manufacturing equipment following established Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Assist with line set ups, start up and maintaining a clean and orderly work area.
  • Maintain quality standards by visually inspecting parts, components and subassemblies.
  • Recognize and solve minor problems that arise.
  • Perform any necessary material handling requirements of the job.
  • Perform other duties that may be assigned.

  • Ability to perform basic math - add, subtract, multiply whole numbers, fractions and decimals.
  • Strong orientation toward quality, safety and continuous improvement.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Desire to learn new skills and improve technical knowledge.
  • Ability to read and understand procedure, routers and instruction.
  • Flexibility in work assignments.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively implement or respond to change.
  • Previous manufacturing experience preferred but not required.

Additional Information

  • Must be able to continuously perform grasping, reaching, pushing, pulling, and walking.
  • Must be able to handle continuous standing 8-10 hours daily.
  • Must be able to perform frequent lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to work daily, weekly overtime and weekend as required.
