Overview

The Tool & Die Maker position at Howmet Aerospace Inc. involves the mechanical construction of molds and dies using standard stamping die making techniques. The company is a leading global provider of advanced engineered solutions for the aerospace and transportation industries.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the mechanical construction of molds and dies.
  • Lead and monitor multiple tooling projects concurrently.
  • Interpret part and tool blueprints to design and determine die making plans.
  • Perform operations within very close tolerances.
  • Possess own tools and toolbox.
  • Work effectively with all levels of the cross-functional manufacturing team.
  • Safely operate standard tool and die equipment including mill, lathe, grinder, EDM wire/drill, and measurement tools.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.) from an accredited institution.
  • Five or more years of experience in tool making or mold making.
  • Ability to lift 40 pounds.
  • Ability to effectively work and communicate as part of a die making team.
  • Functional knowledge of Math and Trigonometry.
  • Thorough knowledge of hydraulic press forming processes.

  • Requires wearing PPE (personal protection equipment) and following safety precautions.
