Overview

The Accuracy Control Technician at Hanwha Philly Shipyard is responsible for ensuring safety procedures are followed, performing alignments and measurements on production sections, and maintaining quality standards. The role requires collaboration with team members and the ability to interpret technical documents.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with Hanwha Philly Shipyard safety procedures and regulations.
  • Perform alignments and finalize the status of production-built sections and grand blocks.
  • Interpret engineering drawings and technical documents.
  • Maintain quality standards and meet scheduled completion times.
  • Record and submit measurements accurately and timely.
  • Provide daily feedback on task progress and quality results.
  • Ensure readiness of all measurement team equipment, including calibration and records.
  • Cooperate with preparation teams for new projects as needed.
  • Work both independently and as part of a team to complete tasks.
  • Prioritize safety to prevent injury to self and others.
  • Learn and process information flow according to defined rules.
  • Create reports on the final product and evaluate the SA program.
  • Train less experienced team members in all relevant areas.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Experience in Measurement field or Quality Control, or 5 years in the shipbuilding field.
  • Familiarity with AVEVA system.
  • Good print reading skills.
  • Knowledge of Theodolite, level, and digital instruments.
  • Strong shipbuilding background with good mathematical skills.
  • Skilled in using advanced measuring equipment and tools such as Net2B/1200, Archer, and Laptop.
  • Knowledge of steel structures and measurement.
