Overview

The Thermal Spray Technician at Kymera will support the preparation and application of thermal spray coatings to various metals. The ideal candidate should have experience with machining, particularly lathe operations, and should be familiar with different types of metals, while demonstrating a high level of attention to detail and reliability.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with preparing components for thermal spraying and learn proper coating applications.
  • Learn and become familiar with micrometers, calipers, and other measuring tools.
  • Learn how to perform basic maintenance on thermal spray equipment and machinery.
  • Read and understand technical drawings and guidelines for part preparation.
  • Prepare and clean components for thermal spraying using appropriate techniques.
  • Learn to inspect parts for defects or quality issues before and after spraying.
  • Follow all safety protocols to ensure a safe work environment.
  • Assist in ensuring that all products meet customer specifications.

Requirements

  • Ability to learn lathe operations and more advanced techniques.
  • Experience working with metals in a machine shop or industrial setting preferred.
  • Ability to learn and become familiar with precision measuring instruments.
  • Attention to detail and ability to ensure high quality and accuracy.
  • Ability to learn troubleshooting for thermal spray machinery.
  • Reliability with good attendance and punctuality.
  • Good communication skills for collaboration.
  • Ability to adapt to change and maintain flexibility.
  • Safety awareness and commitment to a safe work environment.
  • Eligibility for employment in the US.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment background check and health screenings.
