Fluor is committed to designing and building projects and careers in a collaborative work environment. The Design Engineer IV - Nuclear Structural position focuses on delivering quality engineering services and solutions to enhance Fluor's competitiveness in the global marketplace.

Responsibilities

  • Apply Cost Competitive Execution techniques for discipline engineering work.
  • Develop and review specifications, including design criteria.
  • Participate in equipment and material procurement, permitting, and subcontracting activities.
  • Perform and check calculations, specify equipment, and solve engineering problems.
  • Review vendor equipment documentation for compliance with project requirements.
  • Analyze and make independent recommendations regarding complex problems.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Accredited four (4) year degree in engineering and eight (8) years of work-related experience.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with various audiences.
  • Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job.
  • Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work in a time-effective manner.
  • Professional registration and membership in a technical society is preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of discipline codes and standards.
  • Effort-hour estimating and staff forecasting skills.
  • Practical field experience.
  • Intermediate computer and software skills.
