Overview
Heartland Fabrication, LLC located in Brownsville, Pennsylvania offers a unique opportunity for a Mechanic - Millwright to maintain a variety of equipment within the facility, including inspecting, diagnosing, fixing, and rebuilding as necessary while implementing preventative maintenance practices.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment failure and carry out repairs.
- Work around and in close proximity of operating equipment to diagnose suspected probable failures.
- Conduct regular preventive maintenance to reduce downtime.
- Install and dismantle machinery and equipment according to plans, involving working at heights and using mobile equipment.
- Determine parts required for repairs and replacement.
- Operate mobile equipment used in the repair, installation, or fabrication of equipment including lathes, welders, milling machines, drills, grinders, hammers, wrenches, blow torches, and other power tools.
- Inspect, remove, and replace drive components such as bearings, couplings, sheaves, reducers, and gearboxes.
- Inspect, remove, and replace pumps, compressors, valves, etc.
- Inspect, remove, repair, and replace conveyor systems, screws, air slides, belts, elevators, pneumatic systems, and chains.
- Maintain and repair dust collector systems.
- Rebuild equipment including compressors, gearing carriers, housings, coal mill assemblies, and reducers.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the marine or steel fabrication industry.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Ability to work well under minimal supervision.

- Must be able to work in both indoor and outdoor environments and in all types of weather conditions.
- Interaction with other crew employees, supervisors, and client personnel.
- Working in plant and/or shop areas around production machinery with extreme noise levels.
- Proper personal protective equipment is required at all times.
