Overview

BAE Systems is seeking various skill levels of welders for their Submarine program at the Jacksonville Maritime Solutions shipyard. The positions involve fabrication and welding tasks essential for submarine manufacturing.

Responsibilities

  • Weld newly installed structural members and plating.
  • Weld re-installed temporary access openings.
  • Weld on a variety of materials using multiple processes.
  • Participate in continuous training on welding processes.
  • Use pneumatic tools for material preparation.
  • Perform oxy/fuel pre-heat and carbon/arc gouging.
  • Read and interpret weld symbols and work packages.
  • Adhere to safety, health, and environmental policies.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma.
  • MIG Welding experience or training.
  • Structural welding experience.
  • Vocational, Technical and Community Colleges or Apprentice programs.
  • Experience in the construction industry or manufacturing environment.
  • Basic mathematical skills.
  • Ability to interpret welding and shipyard procedures.
