Overview
Join our team as a Ride Mechanic and work where you have fun! This full-time position offers the opportunity to safely service, troubleshoot, inspect, install, and rehab ride machinery and components at Six Flags, the Thrill Capital of the South.
Responsibilities
- Inspect rides and attractions, notifying management of any hazards that may endanger guests or employees.
- Perform ride inspection and maintenance programs according to standards set by Six Flags, Ride Manufacturers, ASTM, and the State of Georgia.
- Maintain, erect, repair, and troubleshoot various theme park rides and attractions.
- Diagnose malfunctioning apparatus such as hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, and gearbox drive systems.
- Diagnose and repair or replace faulty mechanical components like lift chains and gear boxes.
- Visually inspect and listen to machines and equipment to locate causes of malfunctions.
- Remove and replace worn or defective parts using hand or power tools.
- Weld using shielded metal ARC welding, Flux Core ARC welding, and Gas ARC welding.
- Read and interpret mechanical drawings and manufacturers manuals and schematics.
- Keep a daily duty log of maintenance work performed and accurate records of preventative maintenance.
- Respond to work orders and conduct mechanical repairs to maintain safe park operation.
- Adhere to park policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Strong knowledge of various mechanical systems and ability to proficiently weld.
- Ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to professionally interact with other shops and various departments.
- Must be able to troubleshoot clearly, calmly, and safely in the presence of guests, co-workers, and park management.
- Ability to write, speak, and comprehend English.
- Able to meet the physical demands of the job including lifting up to 100 lbs, bending, standing for long periods, climbing, and working at heights up to 200 ft.
- Knowledge of OSHA rules and regulations.
- Ability to work outside in any weather conditions, nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Valid Drivers’ License and clean DMV report.
- Employees are required to supply their own hand tools.

Additional Information
- Full-Time, Hourly overtime eligible position.
- This position is covered by a Collective Bargaining Agreement.
- Pay range is $30.12 - $40.16 per hour, depending on level of experience.
