Overview

Martin Marietta is seeking a Field Mechanic to support the Maintenance Services group, primarily responsible for the safe repair and maintenance of rock crusher machines and other fixed plant equipment at operating sites in Georgia and surrounding states.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a TIIR of 0 by reporting near misses, achieving compliance on pre-shift equipment checks, and educating fellow employees.
  • Assist in the repair and maintenance of various rock crushers including gyratory, jaw, cone, and impact crushers.
  • Measure and inspect crusher components in the field to determine whether to use, repair, or replace them.
  • Generate field reports to document findings, corrective actions, and root causes.
  • Manage and document billed field expenses by work order process to quarries.
  • Maintain all company issued equipment in safe working condition and DOT compliance.
  • Complete task training on company service truck and tools immediately upon hire.
  • Complete task training on all service cranes, trucks, welders, and torches within 90 days of hire.
  • Complete torch training and evaluation program within the first 90 days.
  • Support Preventative Maintenance directives of annual crusher surveys and daily inspections.

Requirements

  • Must believe and practice safety as the number one priority.
  • HS Diploma or GED required.
  • Self-motivated individual with a strong work ethic and accountability.
  • Strong mechanical background.
  • Ability to field weld with multiple processes and use various torches.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience working in aggregates production or on rock crushing equipment.
  • Ability to measure parts, clearances, and interference fits with micrometers and calipers.
  • Basic computer skills for reporting and transferring information.
  • Willingness and ability to travel frequently.
  • Ability to work outdoors in changing weather conditions.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to travel over 50% of the time.
