Job Description

Overview

Mechanical Dynamics and Analysis LLC is a world-class supplier of power generation services, parts, and repairs, seeking a qualified Welding Operations Cell Lead to assist in production and training for industrial gas turbine components.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance, troubleshoot technical malfunctions, and conduct repairs.
  • Collaborate on detailed hands-on inspections of turbine structures and provide expertise on damage and wear.
  • Proactively assess degradation of turbine parts and communicate risks to the operations supervisor.
  • Use diagnostic tools to evaluate current and incoming vane parts.
  • Assist in enforcing PPE initiatives and site safety protocols.
  • Maintain all related paperwork, including training records.
  • Provide on-time delivery status on departmental projects.
  • Collaborate on departmental Root Cause Analysis (RCA's).
  • Provide technical advice to employees on manufacturing processes.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED/Apprenticeship classes or trade school.
  • Welding vocational school training or 3-5 years of TIG welding experience.
  • 5-7 years of welding experience in the Gas Turbine Industry.
  • Availability to work days, nights, weekends, holidays, and mandatory overtime.
  • Full knowledge of TIG welding procedures and techniques.
  • Familiarity with Power Generation (Turbine) equipment.
  • Well-versed in NDE techniques, such as dye penetrant testing.
  • Ability to use hand and power tools associated with TIG welding.
  • Ability to use standard precision measuring instruments and hand tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and specifications.
  • Experience welding in horizontal, vertical, and overhead positions.
  • Strong customer service experience in discussing repairs and scheduling.
  • Ability to lead and supervise diaphragm welders at customer sites.
  • Full understanding of associated mathematical arithmetic.
  • Good visual and auditory acuity.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
