Delta, founded in 1971, is a global provider of power and thermal management solutions focused on innovative, clean, and energy-efficient solutions. The Turret Blanking Operator role involves prepping, assembling, fitting up, and fabricating metal components using welding techniques.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all duties safely.
  • Read blueprints and drawings required for layout, assembly and weld functions.
  • Set up components for welding according to specifications utilizing fixtures and positioning equipment.
  • Weld components using GMAW (mig) welding equipment in various positions.
  • Adjust weld settings as needed to ensure acceptable weld quality.
  • Execute robotic welding programs and troubleshoot basic errors.
  • Perform pre-and-post weld inspection to verify key properties using appropriate tools.
  • Conduct tests to check weld visual quality and dimension tolerance.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on equipment.
  • Adhere to safety, health, and environmental requirements.
  • Report quality, safety, and environmental issues using appropriate channels.
  • Perform additional duties and tasks as assigned in relation to duties as a welder.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 6 months MIG welding experience.
  • Experience reading and interpreting fabrication drawings.
  • Preferred experience with robotic welding operation.
  • Preferred experience with overhead and/or jib crane operation.
  • Preferred experience reading and interpreting weld maps.
  • Preferred experience with OSHA regulations.
  • Exceptional experience training others in welding or other fabrication skills.
  • Exceptional experience with CNC, press break, or blanking fabrication.
  • Exceptional experience with powder coating systems.
  • Experience welding with GMAW (mig) on mild or low alloy steel.
  • Experience with fit up and assembly of welded components.
  • Knowledge of welding equipment.
  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings such as fabrication drawings.
  • Ability to understand tolerances and fabricate parts within allowance.
