Overview

As a Welder at Z Modular, you will fabricate high-quality metal components for modular building systems, requiring precision and a commitment to safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Welds components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions.
  • Lays out, positions, aligns, and secures parts and assemblies using measuring tools and fixtures.
  • Examines workpieces and verifies conformance to specifications using precision measuring devices.
  • Welds a variety of metals and alloys including aluminum, stainless steel, and cast iron.
  • Clamps, tacks, and grinds parts to achieve required configurations prior to final welding.
  • Determines appropriate equipment and welding methods based on technical drawings and material properties.
  • Monitors welding processes to prevent overheating, warping, or distortion of parts.
  • Operates manual or semi-automatic welding equipment including MIG, TIG, and arc welding systems.
  • Reads and interprets blueprints, work orders, and specifications to plan welding operations.
  • Develops templates and models based on engineering drawings for accurate fabrication.
  • Operates metal shaping, straightening, and bending machinery as needed.
  • Promotes and maintains safe work practices in compliance with company policies and OSHA standards.
  • Maintains full-time, predictable onsite attendance as an essential job function.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 3 years of welding experience in manufacturing, fabrication, or construction environments.
  • Welding certificate preferred.
  • Eligible to work in the United States.
  • Strong working knowledge of welding processes, tools, and materials.
  • Ability to read blueprints and interpret weld symbols accurately.
  • Skilled in using measuring tools; able to add and subtract fractions.
  • Committed to workplace safety and adherence to PPE requirements.
  • Excellent balance, hand-eye coordination, and manual dexterity.
  • Capable of lifting up to 80 lbs and standing for extended periods.

What you'll be running
