Overview

GE Vernova is focused on addressing the climate crisis through electrification and decarbonization. The Welder C-Class position involves various welding operations and support tasks in a full-time role at the Chamblee, GA facility.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all welding operations including shielded metal arc, submerged arc, plasma arc, gas tungsten arc, gas metal arc, and oxygen/acetylene.
  • Conduct brazing, soldering, and torch cutting operations.
  • Develop and work from less complicated prints and sketches.
  • Perform layouts and setups for less difficult work.
  • Familiarize with base metals, filler metals, and alloy selection.
  • Conduct liquid dye penetrant tests.
  • Assist and work on more complicated jobs as needed.
  • Direct and train others as required.
  • Maintain machining and material handling equipment.
  • Assist with steam turbine repairs and welding tasks.
  • Support Generator field repair and refurbishing.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • At least 2 years of experience in welding, machining, or technical assembly.
  • Ability to read and understand work instructions.

Additional Information

  • Full-time onsite position at Chamblee, GA.
  • 1st shift schedule during training: Monday-Friday 6:00AM – 2:30PM ET.
  • 2nd shift schedule after training: Monday-Friday 4:10PM – 1:00AM ET.
  • Overtime available but not mandatory.
  • Relocation Assistance Provided.
