Overview

As a Certified TIG Welder, you will be responsible for performing high-quality welds on various metal components while ensuring the structural integrity and aesthetics of the finished products in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform TIG welding operations using appropriate equipment, tools, and techniques according to blueprints and specifications.
  • Select and set up welding equipment, including TIG welding machines and related tools.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine welding requirements.
  • Prepare workpieces by cleaning, degreasing, and positioning them for welding.
  • Set welding parameters according to material type and desired weld quality.
  • Execute TIG welding operations on various metals while adhering to safety protocols.
  • Monitor the welding process, inspecting welds for defects and making necessary adjustments.
  • Perform post-welding tasks, including grinding and polishing for a finished appearance.
  • Conduct regular maintenance and inspection of welding equipment.
  • Follow safety guidelines and maintain a clean work area.
  • Collaborate with team members to discuss project requirements and troubleshoot issues.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma.
  • Minimum of 5 years of professional welding experience, focusing on TIG welding techniques.
  • Valid certification in TIG welding.
  • In-depth knowledge of welding principles and techniques.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints and specifications.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain high-quality standards.
  • Skilled in operating and maintaining TIG welding equipment.
  • Ability to assess weld quality and identify defects.
  • Solid understanding of welding safety procedures.
  • Good communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively.
  • Physical stamina and dexterity to perform welding tasks.

Additional Information

  • This is a temporary position lasting 60 to 90 days with the potential of becoming permanent.
  • Typical work hours are Monday through Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
  • Occasional overtime may be required.
