Overview

MasTec Utility Services is a purpose-driven company that delivers critical infrastructure construction and engineering services for power delivery, gas, and water customers. The Mechanic role involves the maintenance and repair of heavy equipment and vehicles, supporting the Construction team.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect and repair company equipment, such as pickup trucks, line trucks, trailers, mini excavators, backhoes, compressors, and generators.
  • Perform road tests and operational checks of vehicles and equipment.
  • Place orders for required parts, materials and supplies.
  • Prepare and maintain records and reports.
  • Monitor prioritized projects, activities, and assignments.
  • Maintain tools, supplies, and workstations in a clean and safe manner.
  • Provide support and training for Mechanic I.
  • Perform other duties as required and/or assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma, or equivalent.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • 3 years of experience.
  • Knowledge of vehicle and equipment repairs, preventative maintenance, and diagnostics.
  • Knowledge of safety guidelines and procedures.
  • Ability to do tune-ups, brake jobs (hydraulic), and basic wiring.
  • Basic diesel and drive train experience.
  • Ability to use cutting torch and basic welding skills.
  • Knowledge of minor heavy equipment repairs.
