Overview

Coining, part of AMETEK Specialty Metal Products, is a global manufacturer of precision metal solutions for critical applications across various industries. The Tool & Die Maker role involves building and repairing jigs, fixtures, tools, and dies, ensuring high quality and performance in manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

  • Reads and interprets blueprints or works from verbal or written instructions.
  • Plans the setup and operation of machine shop tools considering materials and tolerances.
  • Heat treats materials as required.
  • Determines specifications for inspection using precision measuring tools.
  • Performs hand operations to produce jigs, fixtures, tools, and dies.
  • Fits and assembles jigs, fixtures, tools, and dies.
  • Sets up, runs off, and tests dies to produce products to specifications.
  • Maintains a safe and organized work environment.
  • May assist machinists and millwrights in punch press overhaul.
  • May work with product designers to provide input on manufacturing capabilities.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • 5 years experience in tool and die making.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Basic math aptitude.
  • Attention to detail with strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Proactive communicator who collaborates well with others.
  • Team-oriented, reliable, and safety-minded.
