Overview

Nestlé Purina, a leader in pet care for over 130 years, is seeking a Journeyman Maintenance Technician (Class A multi-craft) for their Fairburn factory near Atlanta. This role focuses on ensuring the reliability and performance of automated manufacturing equipment while fostering a culture of safety and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, robotic, and automated manufacturing equipment.
  • Diagnose and repair PLC-controlled systems, operator interfaces, motor controls, VFDs, and process control equipment.
  • Read, interpret, and modify PLC ladder logic to improve equipment performance and reliability.
  • Troubleshoot and maintain three-phase motors, power distribution equipment, switchgear, control panels, and electrical systems.
  • Perform mechanical repairs on bearings, gearboxes, drive systems, conveyors, and other production equipment.
  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical components, conduit, control wiring, and motors while supporting hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Utilize welding, fabrication, machining, and hand tools to complete equipment repairs and modifications.
  • Adhere to all safety, preventative maintenance, documentation, and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) requirements while mentoring and supporting other maintenance technicians.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum 5 years of verifiable industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Journeyman-level maintenance skills demonstrated through one or more of the following: Industrial Technology Associate Degree, completed apprenticeship program (verifiable journeyman’s card), technical certification, or military industrial certification.
