Job Description

Overview

The Mill Crush/Convey Diagnostic Mechanic I role involves performing diagnostic, maintenance, and repair tasks on heavy equipment in a collaborative environment where safety is a top priority.

Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostic, maintenance and repair of heavy equipment such as Haul Trucks, Water Trucks, Dozers, Loaders, and Motor Graders.
  • Remove, repair and install transmissions, engines, brakes, differentials, pumps, motors, torque converters, final drives and other heavy equipment systems.
  • Perform mechanical and lubrication preventative maintenance on hydraulic, power train and engine systems.
  • Prioritize and make decisions regarding equipment repair as needed.
  • Maintain work orders and perform work area inspections.
  • Operate mobile equipment such as overhead cranes, forklifts, and boom trucks.
  • Perform welding including Carbon arc, Plasma, Mig, Tig, and Stick.
  • Act as a Fill-in Supervisor as required.
  • Train and mentor other employees.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Requirements

  • Two years’ experience in mechanical/maintenance crafts or a combination of education and experience in industrial mechanical repair and maintenance.
  • Completion of academic and practical competencies required for the role.
  • Ability to understand and apply verbal and written work and safety-related instructions in English.
  • Ability to communicate in English regarding job assignments, procedures, and safety standards.
  • Ability to prioritize repairs and possess excellent decision-making skills.
  • Ability to troubleshoot machine systems.
  • Ability to read and use blueprints.
