Overview

Summertown Metals of Hopkinsville is a rapidly growing, family-owned business in Hopkinsville, KY, specializing in pole barns, barndominiums, and houses. They are seeking a Welder to assemble metal trusses and maintain equipment in a supportive work environment with career growth opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Plans details of work order procedures and gathers required tools and materials.
  • Repairs and fabricates various items and equipment using cutting, burning, and welding techniques.
  • Monitors the welding and fitting process to prevent overheating or damage.
  • Prepares, assembles, and tacks weld parts and surfaces for welding.
  • Maintains, organizes, and cleans equipment and the work area.
  • Notifies supervisor of faulty equipment or defective materials.
  • Interprets drawings, sketches, models, specifications, and related documents.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Welding certifications preferred.
  • Two years of welding experience preferred.
  • Ability to read and use tape measure, scale, calipers, fillet, and weld gauge.
  • Ability to operate heavy machinery.
  • Ability to read blueprints and schematics.

Additional Information

  • Work schedule is Monday - Friday from 7 am to 3 pm with overtime as needed.
  • Starting rate for this role is $19.00/hr.
