Overview

The Robot Weld Technician position at voestalpine Roll Forming Corporation involves setting up, troubleshooting robotic welding equipment, and training operators. Responsibilities

  • Set up, operate, maintain, and troubleshoot robotic welding systems.
  • Provide technical support to Production while coordinating with Engineering, Maintenance, and Quality.
  • Perform basic robotic programming including modifying position points.
  • Adjust fixtures and tooling, including sensor replacements.
  • Achieve RFC manual welder qualifications.
  • Conduct basic robotic preventative maintenance.
  • Train operators including loaders, welders, and inspectors.
  • Assist Maintenance/Engineering with troubleshooting equipment and process problems.
  • Analyze when to call support department resources.
  • Work cooperatively with Quality Assurance, Engineering, Customer Service, and Maintenance.
  • Aid in installation and relocation of equipment.
  • Complete daily or weekly paperwork/reporting.
  • Train and develop team members technically.
  • Participate in Lean Production programs.
  • Research and trial supplies for improved cost and quality.
  • Maintain consumable inventory levels.
  • Follow SOPs, work instructions, and blueprints.
  • Promote a positive attitude among Production employees.
  • Use safe working practices and maintain good housekeeping.
  • Comply with quality and ISO standards.
  • Complete training on new and existing equipment.
  • Utilize Lock-Out-Tag-out procedures.
  • Receive training as a First Responder to medical injuries (preferred).

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 1-3 years of experience or equivalent training in setting up and operating specialized machines.
  • Preferred experience with robotics, fixtures, and GMAW welding.
  • Experience troubleshooting to assist maintenance and provide technical support.

Additional Information

  • Schedule: 6:00AM – 6:00PM Friday, Saturday & Sunday with a $4.50 shift differential.
  • 5:00PM – 3:30AM Monday to Thursday with overtime as needed.
