Responsibilities

• Selects equipment and plans layouts, assembly, and welding.
• Uses various welding processes including Gas-Metal Arc and Flux-Cored Arc.
• Bolts, clamps, and welds metal components of products.
• Manually applies filler rod to supply weld metal.
• Cleans or degreases weld joints or workplaces.
• Repairs broken or cracked parts and fills holes.
• Removes excess weld, defective weld material, slag, and spatter.
• Preheats work pieces using hand torch or heating furnace.
• Cuts metal plates or structural shapes.
• Examines weld for bead size and other specifications.

Requirements

• Minimum 4 years industrial construction/maintenance industry experience.
