Overview

Join Parker’s Industrial Gas Filtration & Generation (IGFG) Division as a Welder, where you will build and weld custom products from prints and raw materials. Parker IGFG is committed to delivering industry-leading solutions in compressed air and gas treatment, with over 50 years of expertise in the field.

Responsibilities

  • Follows established safety, quality and environmental policies, procedures and methods applicable to the work area.
  • Must be able to read and interpret blueprints.
  • Welds including spot welding, tig and mig in various positions.
  • Fabricates and welds non-ASME code components.
  • Sets up welders, fabricates (cuts, welds, and drills), grinds and finishes.
  • Positions and clamps together components of fabricated metal products preparatory to welding.
  • Performs other duties as necessary.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • General welding coursework completed preferred.
  • 2 - 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Experience working with sheet metal.
  • Ability to understand and follow written work instructions.
  • Basic knowledge of hand tools such as tape measure, wrenches, drills, etc.
  • Basic level math skills including fractions and decimals and an understanding of angles.
  • Ability to read from a schematic.
  • Ability to distinguish material types including Aluminum, Steel and Stainless Steel.
  • Ability to pass a basic welding test prior to being hired.
  • Computer skills including MS Office and ability to learn Parker business systems.

What you'll be running

This posting calls for MIG and TIG work. MIG (GMAW) feeds a continuous wire electrode through a shielding-gas nozzle.
