Overview

The Welder position involves operating various tools and machines for welding tasks, ensuring quality and safety in the production of welded products. Candidates are expected to perform a range of welding techniques and contribute to team efforts in a productive manner.

Responsibilities

• Operate all types of tools necessary for welding, including wire feed welder and plasma cutter.
• Weld in all positions such as vertical, flat, vertical lap, and overhead.
• Set up various parts and assemblies for welding.
• Set machines up for carbon and stainless steel of various gauges.
• Place and move blocking, braces, and jigs to hold parts.
• Align parts using hammers, wedges, and pry bars.
• Grind or chip rough edges, surplus weld, or scale.
• Position and turn clamps, and bolt together straps or parts.
• Operate overhead cranes, hoists, and other lifting devices.
• Perform measurement and quality checks and record findings.
• Operate robotic weld equipment.
• Perform all tasks in a safe, efficient, and productive manner according to company policy.
• Contribute to the team effort to produce a quality product.
• Attend scheduled work hours regularly and maintain good attendance.
• Be available for mandatory overtime.
• Other duties may be assigned by the company.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent based on education and work experience.
• Preferred Welder Certification.
• Ability to accurately read and use gauges and tape measures.
• Ability to read and understand blueprints and process sheets.
• Basic shop math skills including fractions and measurements.
• Knowledge of welding practices and machine operations.
• Knowledge of weld defect identification and repair.
• Must successfully pass written and hands-on weld tests.
• Must successfully pass pulmonary function tests.
