Job Description

Overview

We are looking for a skilled 3rd Shift Fitter to join our team. This hands-on role requires strong fitting and fabrication experience, the ability to read blueprints, and a commitment to safety in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret blueprints to accurately fit structural steel assemblies to specification.
  • Fit, align, and tack weld components for pit welders.
  • Perform production MIG welding when fitting work is not required.
  • Weld structural steel assemblies for custom buildings.
  • Perform grinding and polishing of welds to meet quality and appearance standards.
  • Use hand tools, grinders, measuring tools, and other fabrication equipment.
  • Accurately measure materials and ensure components are properly aligned and fitted.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area while following 5S standards.
  • Regularly lift and move materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Follow all safety, quality, and production requirements.

Requirements

  • MIG welding experience with the ability to pass a 1G & 2G Unlimited MIG Weld Test, including visual and bend testing.
  • Experience running .052 MIG wire with a 90/50 gas mix.
  • Previous structural steel fitting/fabrication experience preferred.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints.
  • Ability to accurately read a tape measure.
  • Ability to convert decimals to fractions and perform basic measurements.
  • Comfortable operating hand tools and grinders.
  • Ability to regularly lift 50 lbs.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
  • Reliable attendance and willingness to work 3rd shift.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Commitment to maintaining a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
