Overview

Emerald Transformer is seeking a Welder for their Waco, Texas facility. The Welder will be responsible for joining, repairing, and finishing metal components used in power distribution equipment while adhering to safety protocols and specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Perform TIG, MIG, and stick welding to join metal parts and complete welding work.
  • Weld, cut, grind, and finish power distribution equipment and items associated with facility maintenance.
  • Read, interpret, and apply sketches, specifications, and work instructions during welding or repair work.
  • Inspect equipment and workpieces to verify safe conditions and work quality.
  • Assist with design input and troubleshooting related to welding and metal repair.
  • Maintain accurate records for job costing and work tracking.
  • Use basic hand tools and shop equipment safely and effectively.
  • Follow company safety programs and wear required personal protective equipment.
  • Perform physically demanding work that may include climbing, standing, and lifting.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 2+ years of prior experience in MIG welding and plasma cutting required.
  • Prior welding, fabrication, repair, or facility maintenance experience preferred.
  • Ability to read, write, and comprehend written instructions.
  • Basic arithmetic skills needed for measurements and documentation.
  • Working knowledge of welding, cutting, grinding, and safe hot-work practices.
  • Ability to inspect work and communicate repair or safety issues.
  • Ability to perform mechanical tasks using close visual acuity.
  • Ability to work around industrial hazards and wear required PPE.
  • Ability to exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally.

What you'll be running
