Overview

Transco Rail Services, part of the global industrial organization Marmon Holdings, provides full-service railcar repair and maintenance across North America. The Railcar Repair Technician conducts repairs and inspections on tank cars while ensuring customer satisfaction and safety compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct railcar inspections to ensure compliance and perform necessary repairs.
  • Use current repair procedures for railcar repairs.
  • Meet customer expectations to ensure satisfaction.
  • Complete necessary invoicing, inspection, and work order information.
  • Maintain all required certifications and demonstrate familiarity with AAR rules and regulations.
  • Perform other work-related tasks as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Must have mechanical aptitude and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to use hand tools and perform basic railcar repairs and inspections.
  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and work as part of a team.
  • Ability to work safely and follow proper procedures.
  • Must work in all types of weather conditions.
  • Valid Driver’s License required.

Additional Information

  • Travel required: up to 50%, including weekly local travel, regional day trips, and potential overnight travel as needed.
  • Starting Pay Rate: $24.92/hr
  • Hours: M-F 6:00 am - 2:30 pm
