Overview

The Department of Facilities Management and Development at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is seeking a full-time Trades Generalist who performs journey-level work in one trade and skilled and semiskilled work in other trades for the repair and maintenance of facilities and equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform journey-level work in one trade and skilled and semiskilled work in other trades.
  • Supervise others in maintenance, repair, installation, and construction activities.
  • Plan and lay out construction, repair, and maintenance projects.

Requirements

  • 4 years of full-time experience in a trade under a skilled tradesperson or equivalent training.
  • Completion of technical courses in skilled trades at a school, institute, or branch of the Armed Services may be considered.
  • Possess a valid New York State driver's license when required to operate motor vehicles.
  • Individuals certified eligible for the 55 B/C program will also be considered.
