Overview

The DEBURRER position on the 2nd shift involves operating and adjusting manual or numerically controlled machine tools to perform standard operations under general supervision. The role requires a minimum of four years of experience as a general machine shop operator and includes various responsibilities related to deburring and polishing machine components.

Responsibilities

  • Sets up manual machines with prescribed speeds, feeds, and tooling operations.
  • Operates numerically controlled machines with approved programs and setups maintained by others.
  • Removes burrs and rough edges from machine component parts using hand operations.
  • Removes scratches, burrs, and tool marks from parts using a microscope or magnifier.
  • Uses standard shop measuring devices.
  • Sharpens drill tools on a grinding wheel as necessary.
  • Operates automatic welding equipment.
  • Moves parts and materials to and from the work area.
  • Maintains good housekeeping in the work area.
  • Performs other duties as directed by supervision.

Requirements

  • Minimum of four years’ experience as a general machine shop operator.
  • Demonstrated acceptable performance on both required machine and manual operations.
  • Must meet the US persons criteria.
