Overview

Syensqo is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to perform maintenance on all plant mechanical equipment and systems while adhering to safety, health, and environmental policies. The role involves mechanical repairs, equipment rebuilds, and preventative maintenance, contributing to the company's mission of improving lives and preserving the planet.

Responsibilities

  • Implement Syensqo safety and Industrial Hygiene procedures.
  • Conduct safety audits and inspections.
  • Participate in safety meetings and incident investigations.
  • Prepare equipment for safe maintenance operations.
  • Install, recondition, repair, and troubleshoot mechanical equipment.
  • Rebuild rotating equipment to meet original standards.
  • Familiarity with various mechanical equipment such as agitators, compressors, and pumps.
  • Use industrial tools safely and effectively.
  • Utilize diagnostic tools to resolve mechanical issues.
  • Read and understand mechanical drawings and equipment manuals.
  • Maintain records of maintenance activities.
  • Prepare records in accordance with ISO 9001 and quality plant safety certification.
  • Participate in achieving goals in safety, environmental compliance, reliability, quality, and cost control.
  • Engage in continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Work with engineering and operations teams.
  • Share knowledge and best practices.
  • Conduct in-process quality analysis.
  • Ensure good housekeeping.
  • Be available for overtime and emergency call-ins.
  • Advance knowledge and skills in mechanical competencies.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of maintenance experience in a chemical or manufacturing environment.
  • Millwright experience is a plus.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Basic computer skills (e.g., email, internet, CMMS).
