Overview

Slip Robotics is a B2B Robotics-as-a-Service company deploying autonomous loading and unloading robots at warehouse and fulfillment sites across North America. They are seeking a Machinist - Laser Operator to operate and maintain various fabrication equipment, focusing on rapid prototyping and R&D support.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain a Senfeng SF3015C fiber laser cutter.
  • Operate and maintain an Amada FBD1253NT press brake.
  • Operate and maintain MIG, TIG, and laser welders.
  • Partner directly with Engineering to fabricate prototype components and test fixtures.
  • Enable rapid iteration by modifying parts and optimizing toolpaths.
  • Provide design-for-manufacturability feedback early in the development cycle.
  • Support experimental builds and mechanical validation testing.
  • Help create flexible, reusable fixturing and processes.
  • Support short-run and bridge-production needs when required.
  • Maintain repeatable processes and documentation for small-batch runs.

Requirements

  • Strong CNC & CAM expertise, including 2D/3D toolpath creation.
  • Demonstrated experience in prototype-driven or R&D-heavy environments.
  • Ability to work directly with engineers to interpret evolving designs.
  • Strong judgment on prioritizing speed vs. precision in development builds.
  • Deep understanding of shop safety and ability to train others.
  • Familiarity with fabrication equipment and machine shop best practices.
