Job Description

Overview

The Welder position involves performing routine welding work on HVAC units according to blueprints and company standards. The role requires the ability to set up and maintain welding machines, inspect welds, and follow safety procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Executes routine welding tasks on HVAC units.
  • Ability to set up and maintain welding machine (tip, liner, changes, etc.) and weld vertical, horizontal, and overhead.
  • Inspect welds for cracks, burn through and weld spatter.
  • Use basic hand, electric, cordless, and pneumatic tools, as required.
  • Grind and clean areas where required.
  • Stay current in TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) and basic mechanical adjustments on all equipment as needed.
  • Follow hazardous waste disposal program and fire prevention procedures.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • 1-3 years’ experience as a welder.
  • Prior work experience with Lean Manufacturing processes preferred.
  • Welding Certifications preferred but not required.
  • Ability to read and use a tape measure for precise measurements.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints, as well as weld symbols.
  • Process knowledge and experience to set up, adjust, and maintain welding machines.
  • Ability to communicate professionally and follow directions.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Must be able to pass the required welding certification test.

  • Frequent exposure to manufacturing facilities with seasonal hot and cold temperatures, dust, and some chemical fume exposure.
  • Ability to stand comfortably for prolonged periods of time, as much as 95% of the workday.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
