Overview
The Welder I - MIG position involves welding and joining stainless and aluminum materials with precision, while ensuring quality control and safety standards are met. The role requires competence in using welding equipment and a strong attention to detail.
Responsibilities
- Read blueprints and drawings and take or read measurements to play layout and procedures.
- Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements.
- Set up components for welding according to specifications.
- Weld components together to fabricate products according to layouts, blueprints, or work orders, using various welding equipment.
- Operate angle grinders to prepare the parts that must be welded.
- Align components using tape measure and clamp pieces together.
- Weld components in various positions (vertical, horizontal, and overhead).
- Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety.
Requirements
- Competent in using potentially dangerous equipment following all safety precautions.
- Knowledge of different kinds of metal and their properties.
- Ability to communicate effectively in written and spoken form.
- Excellent interpersonal relationship skills.
- Good decision making and analytical problem solving abilities.
- Strong multi-tasking capabilities and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced high-pressure environment.
