Overview

The Combo Welder position in Abilene involves securing components using electric welding techniques to create accurate welds that withstand various industrial processing systems. The role requires open availability and is limited to the duration of job assignments or projects.

Responsibilities

  • Secure components together using knowledge of geometry and welding techniques.
  • Select appropriate equipment and plan the layout for welding processes.
  • Prepare materials for welding by cutting or grinding.
  • Set up equipment and weld parts using various welding methods.
  • Repair products by dismantling, straightening, and reshaping.
  • Read and understand plans, specifications, and blueprints.
  • Measure, cut, bevel, grind, and fit pipe to specifications.
  • Identify pipe by size, type, and wall thickness.
  • Install pipe hangers, supports, anchors, and guides.
  • Follow safety and compliance policies as outlined in the company manuals.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the foreman or supervisor.

Requirements

  • Minimum of five years field experience in welding.
  • Ability to identify various welding techniques and properties of metals.
  • Completion of certification administered by Samuel EPC.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
  • Physical ability to lift and carry materials up to 50 pounds.
