Overview

Turner Industries is a diversified industrial contractor headquartered in Baton Rouge, LA, with over 20,000 employees. They are seeking Instrument Fitters for their Deer Park, TX location to perform various duties related to instrument installation and repair.

Responsibilities

  • Plan layout, fabricate, assemble, install, and repair instruments, both electronic and pneumatic.
  • Select type and size of pipe and related material according to job specifications.
  • Install new, modify, or repair existing installations.
  • Measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble, and install primary piping and tubing.
  • Install tubing, multitude bundles, junction boxes, and instruments.
  • Connect all piping and tubing to equipment.
  • Leak test all installed piping and tubing.
  • Observe installed instruments and systems to determine hazards and need for adjustments.

Requirements

  • Four years of experience in specified skill.
  • Instrumentation Degree or NCCER Certification preferred.
  • Must be able to pass drug screen and background check.
  • Written pre-employment qualification test.
  • Post-offer drug/alcohol screen and physical evaluation.
  • Hazard Communication orientation/test.
  • OSHA approved corrective eyewear (Z87).
  • Job site orientation and safety requirements as required by the client.

Additional Information

  • Non-exempt role; reports to the foreman.
  • 40 hours per week, with overtime and call outs as needed.
  • No per diem or relocation available; candidates must be current residents in/near the area.
