Alstom is a leading company in the mobility sector, developing and marketing sustainable transportation solutions. The Laborer position in Los Angeles, CA is a unionized role focused on ensuring compliance with safety regulations and maintaining rail equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with all railroad rules and regulations for safety, operations, and the Federal Railroad Administration (FRA).
  • Wash rail equipment and other parts of the train, including all passenger cars.
  • Clean and service cars/engine rooms and clean up work areas.
  • Perform general housekeeping of all rail equipment.
  • Operate a forklift.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors and managers.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • 2 years of combined work experience in a relevant field.
  • Previous experience in construction, maintenance, or warehouse work is a plus.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Ability to read and understand safety instructions, manuals, and directives.
  • Effective communication skills with supervisors and team members.
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and complete tasks accurately.
  • Problem-solving skills.

Additional Information

  • This position is unionized and requires joining the union organization.
  • Work hours may include a nonstandard workweek, overtime, and various shift work.
  • Subject to random testing for drugs and/or alcohol.
  • Must pass all required assessments and a post-offer medical examination.
