Overview

Tutor Perini Civil-East is seeking a Structural Steel Engineer for their New Rochelle, NY office. The role involves managing projects from inception to completion while ensuring safety, quality, profitability, and schedule adherence.

Responsibilities

  • Participates in project safety programs, observations, and audits
  • Assists Project Managers and Superintendents with project related tasks
  • Assists in identifying and promoting changes to improve productivity and quality on the project
  • Effectively communicates with Project Owner/Designer/Architect/Engineering regarding project schedule, issues and activities occurring on the project
  • Develops RFI’s, work plans and submittals for the project
  • Tracks and reports quantities of work performed and understands associated costs of such
  • Develops time and material final pricing submittals
  • Assists with CPM schedule development and maintenance
  • Maintains as-built drawings with assistance from field staff
  • Understands and communicates contract scope to field staff
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

Requirements

  • B.S. in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent from accredited institution
  • Minimum of 8 years’ experience in structural steel erection, heavy civil construction, bridge, vertical construction, or other steel structures
  • Experience actively interfacing with fabricators, subcontractors, & owners to resolve design issues, procurement issues, and constructability issues
  • Coordination of contract drawings, design drawings, and shop drawings to facilitate an erectable final structure
  • Experience actively interface with design engineers & construction engineers to develop thorough 'means & methods' process
  • Accurately realize 'to-date' costs and project 'final' costs thru completion
  • Proficiency with MS Office products (Word/Excel)
  • Excellent written and verbal skills
