Overview

Spitzer, a recognized industry leader in designing and fabricating high-specification equipment, is currently seeking a Quality Control Inspector for the night shift in Houston. The role involves ensuring compliance with quality standards and working closely with production teams to address quality deficiencies.

Responsibilities

  • Understand and follow safety policies and procedures of the shop.
  • Work closely with production personnel and supervisors to correct quality deficiencies.
  • Report quality issues to the Supervisor and track project requirements.
  • Confirm compliance with the Quality Management System Procedures and work instructions.
  • Support and ensure compliance with all OSHA and HSE policies.
  • Read and comprehend project specifications and drawings.
  • Perform visual and dimensional inspections on the product line.
  • Conduct welder or fitter audits.
  • Ensure compliance with codes, standards, and customer specifications.
  • Maintain weld maps and material traceability records.
  • Interface with shop personnel.
  • Keep QC Lead Inspector/QC Manager informed of inspection points.
  • Ensure timely inspections are performed.
  • Provide project status reports.
  • Attend project meetings as required.
  • Determine component acceptance or rejection.
  • Ensure stoppage of nonconforming work and unsafe practices.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Quality Manager.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years documented quality relevant experience is required.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Ability to be qualified per in-house QMS Welder Inspector Program.
  • General knowledge of various codes, NDE techniques, welding, fabrication, and inspection processes.
  • Knowledgeable of various fabrication/construction codes and standards.
  • Ability to comprehend technical information both verbal and written.
  • Basic computer literacy is required.
  • Ability to read and interpret shop drawings.
  • Good communication skills are necessary for job functions.
  • Clear verbal and writing skills with fluency for assigned responsibilities.

Additional Information

  • Work schedule is Monday through Friday with overtime on weekends as needed.
  • Late afternoon/evening/weekend hours may be required.
