Overview

American Trailer World (ATW) is a leading manufacturer and distributor of trailers, parts, and accessories in North America. The Weld Technician at PJ Trailers in Sumner, TX is responsible for conducting weld audits, verifying welding equipment, and ensuring compliance with welding standards.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct weld audits on structural and A surface welds twice daily.
  • Coach and correct welders and leads as needed.
  • Document non-conforming welds in a daily audit report.
  • Communicate with QC inspectors to address weld issues.
  • Verify welder settings and check gas mixes.
  • Troubleshoot welding equipment issues.
  • Ensure consumables are installed correctly.
  • Check for bare grounds or damaged leads and guns.
  • Review and verify prints and weld maps.
  • Perform weld integrity testing.
  • Audit Weld PPE and proper body and hand placement.

Requirements

  • AWS Certified preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of welding experience.
  • 2-3 years of supervisory and training experience.
