Overview

Tate, an independent brand within Kingspan Group, is seeking a Senior Certified Welding Inspector to ensure the quality, safety, and compliance of welded components in their manufacturing operations. The role involves performing inspections, reviewing specifications, and collaborating with teams to maintain high manufacturing standards.

Responsibilities

  • Perform visual inspections and nondestructive testing on welds to ensure conformance with applicable codes and specifications.
  • Review and approve Welding Procedure Specifications, Procedure Qualification Records, and welder performance qualifications.
  • Interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications to verify joint preparation and final weld quality.
  • Document inspection results and prepare reports on weld quality and nonconformances.
  • Identify and report defects or deviations and collaborate on root cause analysis.
  • Witness or oversee welder qualification testing and material verification.
  • Participate in internal audits and quality meetings to support quality management objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols and promote a culture of quality and safety.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor's degree in welding technology or related field preferred.
  • Current AWS Certified Welding Inspector certification required.
  • Additional NDT certifications preferred.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience in welding inspection or quality control.
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience with structural steel or heavy fabrication welding processes.
  • Thorough knowledge of welding processes and common weld defects.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings and standards.
  • Proficiency with weld inspection tools and gauges.
  • Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and move around the manufacturing floor for extended periods.
  • Capability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Exposure to manufacturing environment with noise, dust, and varying temperatures.
  • Vision requirements consistent with AWS CWI standards.

What you'll be running
