Job Description

Overview

We are accepting applications for experienced Flux-Core Welders & Fitters for the Bayou Vista, LA area. The position requires welding and fitting on baskets and containers, with a focus on safety and quality.

Responsibilities

  • Weld and fit on baskets and containers as needed.
  • Layout and mark weld points on parts or subassemblies using tools.
  • Position pieces to be welded into jigs and fixtures using measuring instruments.
  • Clamp, hold, tack-weld, grind, and bolt components for welding.
  • Examine workpieces for defects and measure for specifications.
  • Operate cutting equipment and various power and hand tools.
  • Remove rough spots from workpieces using grinders and hand tools.
  • Safely operate iron worker, grinders, overhead cranes, and welding machines.
  • Assemble components and fabricate equipment with minimal supervision.
  • Maintain health, safety, and environmental rules during work.

Requirements

  • Must be able to pass a drug test.
  • Must be able to pass a background check.
  • Must be able to pass onsite fitting and welding test.
  • Must have Flux-Core welding and fabricating experience.
  • Must be able to weld in various positions.
  • Must be able to read and understand blueprint drawings.
  • Excellent math skills with ability to efficiently read a tape measure.
  • Excellent problem solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Demonstrate strong work ethic and consistency in quality of work.

Additional Information

  • Location: Bayou Vista, LA and surrounding area.
  • Schedule: Monday - Friday with weekends as needed.
  • 45 hours per week.
  • Weekly pay with a pay schedule from Monday to Sunday.
