Overview

The Welder position involves performing welding repair and maintenance on production-related equipment and structures at various plants. This entry-level role requires skills in welding and the ability to work in various positions and environments.

Responsibilities

• Perform welding repair and maintenance on equipment and structures.
• Tack weld or weld components using various welding equipment.
• Cut work pieces using powered saws or hand shears.
• Install or repair equipment such as catwalks and ladders.
• Remove rough spots from work pieces using grinders or files.
• Heat, form, and dress metal parts using hand tools and welding equipment.
• Ignite torch and adjust settings for desired flame or arc.
• Weld, lay out, fit, position, and secure parts and assemblies.
• Prepare the welding area and weld joints.
• Maintain daily reports as required.
• Monitor the welding process and make necessary adjustments.
• Operate forklift or man lift as needed.
• Assist in maintenance and organization of welding equipment.

Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent training and experience.
• Entry-level welding skills with some aggregate experience preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret welding blueprints.
• Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
• Physical ability to lift and move heavy objects up to 45 pounds.
• Knowledge of operating welding equipment.
• Strong problem-solving skills.

Additional Information

• Travel to other facilities may be required.
• Must be able to work required overtime and flexible work schedule.
• Employee may be exposed to varying weather conditions.
