Overview

We are seeking a skilled Welder/Fabricator to join our team at Lake Region Trailer. In this role, you will fabricate, assemble, weld, and repair metal components and structures according to engineering drawings, blueprints, and production specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Perform a variety of welding processes, including MIG, TIG, Stick, and Flux-Core.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, welding symbols, and work instructions.
  • Measure, cut, shape, fit, and assemble metal materials using fabrication equipment and hand tools.
  • Operate and maintain welding and fabrication equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Inspect completed work to ensure it meets quality standards and customer specifications.
  • Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Collaborate with production team members to meet production schedules.
  • Assist with custom fabrication projects and other production-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 2 years of welding and fabrication experience or a welding certificate/degree.
  • Knowledge of welding techniques, processes, and safety practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Proficiency using fabrication equipment, hand tools, and power tools.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to perform accurate layout, fitting, and fabrication work.
  • Knowledge of metal properties, materials, and fabrication methods.
  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Effective communication, organization, and time management skills.
  • Ability to prioritize work and meet production deadlines.

What you'll be running

This posting calls for MIG, TIG, and Flux-Core work. MIG (GMAW) feeds a continuous wire electrode through a shielding-gas nozzle. TIG (GTAW) uses a non-consumable tungsten electrode with filler added by hand, giving the operator the most control of any process. It is slow, demanding, and the standard for stainless, aluminum, and anything where the bead has to look as good as it holds.
