Overview

The Welder position involves performing various welding tasks using techniques such as MIG, TIG, and Stick welding on different metals. The role requires interpreting blueprints and ensuring quality standards while adhering to safety protocols.

Responsibilities

  • Perform welding tasks using various techniques such as MIG, TIG, and Stick welding on different types of metals including steel, aluminum, and stainless steel.
  • Assemble and fabricate metal parts and structures according to blueprints and specifications.
  • Interpret and follow detailed blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to ensure accurate fabrication and assembly.
  • Inspect welds and finished products for accuracy, strength, and adherence to specifications; perform necessary adjustments or rework to meet quality standards.
  • Operate and maintain welding equipment and tools, including welding machines and cutting torches; ensure equipment is in good working condition and report any malfunctions or safety concerns.
  • Follow all safety protocols and guidelines, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves, goggles, and hearing protection.
  • Adhere to safe work practices to prevent accidents and injuries.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a welder in a fabrication shop or similar environment.
  • Hands-on experience with various welding techniques and metalworking equipment.
  • Ability to interpret and follow detailed blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
  • Ability to lift heavy materials, stand for extended periods, and work in various positions.
  • Must be dependable, punctual and possess an excellent work ethic.
  • Must be comfortable working in a high-stress environment with extreme weather fluctuations.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred.
  • Vocational training or certification in metalworking or a related field is a plus.
  • Relevant welding certifications (e.g., AWS, ASME) are preferred.
