Overview

The Maintenance Specialist IV is responsible for the repair and preventative maintenance of campus buildings and surrounding areas, ensuring a high level of pride in maintaining the campus for students undergoing technical training. The ideal candidate should have proficiency in various repair and construction trades, including painting, drywall repair, plumbing, electrical work, welding, and HVAC repair.

Responsibilities

  • Repair and maintain the structure of the establishment through skilled trades such as construction, plumbing, electrical wiring, welding, and HVAC.
  • Ensure all equipment is functioning properly.
  • Perform work and log safety and preventative maintenance tasks according to schedule or checklist.
  • Notify management concerning the need for major repairs.
  • Assist in training other maintenance personnel in basic construction, plumbing, electrical, welding, and related maintenance skills.
  • Set up classrooms and auditoriums for campus functions.
  • Adhere to standard safety practices including wearing appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • 3-5 years of experience in building maintenance.
  • Forklift certification required.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with essential deadlines.
  • Ability to provide flexible and adaptable work schedules.
  • Ability to maintain a professional image and work environment.
  • Good communication, planning, organization, and judgment skills.
  • Intermediate to advanced level skills in construction, painting, plumbing, electrical work, and welding.
  • Ability to safely and properly use hand tools.
  • Experience with electrical test equipment and welding equipment is a plus.
  • Ability to communicate, think, learn, and reason.
  • Ability to use computers and computer systems for various tasks.
  • Ability to safely ambulate and maneuver on-site at Company locations.
  • Ability to demonstrate active listening, inductive reasoning, and category flexibility.
  • Ability to use good judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage sensitive information with discretion.
  • Ability to foster long-term relationships with stakeholders.

Additional Information

  • Shift: 4:00 PM - 1:00 AM.
  • Work is performed indoors in a climate-controlled environment and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Regular business hours with occasional overtime required.
