Overview

Join American Airlines as a Plant Maintenance Mechanic, where you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and punctuality of flights while having opportunities for growth and advancement in your career.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, disassemble, clean, check, repair, rework, replace, fabricate, assemble, install, and adjust building components and equipment.
  • Execute plumbing and millwright assignments.
  • Weld materials and perform general building maintenance.
  • Maintain locks and keys for facilities and airport locations.
  • Assist in storage, removal, and clean-up of hazardous waste.
  • Ensure proper completion of forms, records, and reports.
  • Request parts and clean work area after each shift.
  • Perform Foreign Object Debris (FOD) walks.
  • Coordinate with vendors regarding technical questions.
  • Explain work procedures to other personnel.
  • Escort vendors throughout airport property.
  • Report to position on time and adhere to safety procedures.
  • Complete job-relevant trainings and follow government regulations.
  • Coordinate with other employees and stakeholders to accomplish tasks.
  • Wear uniforms and work shoes as required.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Ability to read, write, fluently speak and understand English.
  • Minimum of 36 months journeyman experience in maintenance trades.
  • Possess applicable state or city license.
  • Willingness to work outdoors in any weather conditions.
  • Ability to work rotating shifts including weekends and holidays.
  • Must fulfill FAA criminal background checks.
  • Must be able to secure appropriate airport security badges.
  • Must successfully complete drug screening process.
