Overview
Boeing is seeking an Experienced Fabrication Specialist to join the Air Dominance Operations team in Mesa, AZ. The role involves working in the Advanced Composite Fabrication Center and requires strong teamwork, communication, and leadership skills in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Develops lay-up and assembly set-ups and techniques for the fabrication of composite structural and assemblies.
- Sets up and troubleshoots composite parts for assembly or layup.
- Assembles, lays up, or supports via autoclave, GFM, and other processes the fabrication of parts and components.
- Identifies nonconforming detail parts, assemblies, and processes, and works with engineering to improve manufacturing processes.
- Fabrics composite detail parts using various pre-preg composite materials and/or wet layup processes.
- Locates station lines, index points, and E.O.P lines to establish exact locations of ply installations and components.
- Assembles and installs detail composite and metallic components by bonding, sealing, cementing, and riveting to engineering specifications.
- Sets up, weighs, mixes, and applies composite adhesives per engineering and company specifications.
- Preps and applies required release agents to composite prototype and/or production tooling per company specifications.
- Maintains working knowledge of composite material bonding best practices, FOD control, and prevention.
Requirements
- Ability to obtain a Secret security clearance.
- Must have High School Diploma/GED or equivalent.
- Must have related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience related to work experience in Composites.
- Must have experience interpreting and working from blueprints, sketches, and written and verbal instructions in English.
