Overview

The General Maintenance position is an entry-level role responsible for assisting with general tasks around the worksite. This role requires minimum prior experience and serves as an introduction to the industry, focusing on the employee’s potential for long-term development within the company.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct pre-shift and post-shift equipment inspections and complete scheduled preventative maintenance tasks.
  • Troubleshoot and replace basic mechanical components, including conveyor belts and water pumps.
  • Perform structural repairs and replace heavy wear-parts using welding, cutting, and grinding equipment.
  • Adhere to MSHA and OSHA regulations and maintain a hazard-free work area.
  • Observe aggregate crushing, washing, and screening areas to identify anomalies and perform minor adjustments.
  • Record and maintain service logs, lubrication reports, and maintenance records for plant equipment.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Experience in maintenance, preferably around heavy equipment and machines.
  • Basic understanding of workplace safety and the ability to follow safety procedures.
  • General awareness of tools and equipment used on-site.
  • Willingness to learn mechanical and maintenance fundamentals.
  • Knowledge of using a wide variety of hand and power tools, cutting torches, and welding equipment.
  • Knowledge of electrical equipment maintenance.
  • A valid driver's license.
