Overview

WIN Waste Innovations is seeking a Lead Mechanic responsible for the installation, troubleshooting, cleaning, inspecting, and maintenance of mechanical equipment in a safe and professional manner. The Lead Mechanic will prioritize daily activities, ensure necessary tools and materials are available, and report maintenance activities effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Review and perform oversight of work-orders and requisitions.
  • Demonstrate proficiency with Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) software.
  • Be available for scheduled and unscheduled overtime.
  • Respond to emergency repairs during off hours and be on call.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment.
  • Operate mobile equipment including industrial forklifts and manlifts.
  • Perform preventive and repair maintenance procedures safely and professionally.
  • Identify and repair potential safety hazards.
  • Communicate effectively via radio using three-part communication.
  • Participate in operations functions including equipment inspections and cleaning.
  • Use various machine shop equipment safely.
  • Identify and maintain hand tools and portable power tools.
  • Travel to other facilities for technical support.
  • Address improvement opportunities proactively.
  • Assist in training other employees.
  • Direct those assigned to assist in maintenance tasks.
  • Complete Corporate and Plant Training Programs.
  • Use measuring tools to calculate lengths, surface areas, and volumes.
  • Follow safety and environmental procedures and report hazards.
  • Maintain compliance with environmental, health, and safety requirements.
  • Complete Environmental Management System and Compliance Training.
  • Work rotating shifts if requested.
  • Communicate clearly both verbally and in writing.
  • Anticipate and troubleshoot equipment problems.
  • Provide expertise on equipment repairs and reference O&M Manuals.
  • Be a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on operating equipment in a Waste-to-Energy facility.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in welding practices.

Requirements

  • High School diploma (GED) required.
  • Tech Schooling Experience preferred.
  • Minimum of 8 years' experience in the Industrial or Power Industry Maintenance Field, or 2 years' experience as a 1st class Mechanic.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Software; Excel, Word, Office.
  • Ability to read and record measurements with precision.
  • Proficient in welding, soldering, brazing, and pipe fitting.
  • Maintain a positive work environment.
